About the Nations & Regions Production Fund
1
Is there a limit to the number of pitches a producer/production company can submit?
No – but we prefer quality over quantity! Experience proves that well thought out, bespoke pitches for available schedule slots prove more appealing and successful than a generic pitching of multi proposals.

2
Why is the NRPF fund only available to first time, new-to-network producers in the regions, rather than producers/production companies who have previously had a show commissioned by ITV1?
ITV1 wants to discover and actively encourage new talent around the UK going forward.

3
What is ITV's rights position with programmes commissioned from independent producers?
ITV has always prided itself on offering a rights position that is favourable to the producer. Full details are available on the ITV website – www.itv.com – bottom right hand corner of the home page, click on itv.com/about, and go to Producers Page and then "Code of Practice for Commissioning Programmes from Independent Producers" document.

4
Would ITV consider submissions for drama?
Yes – but given the financial commitment, we would have to still review it in relation to the NRPF budget and slots available.

5
Is ITV looking for a strong regional voice?
We expect the combination of all our programmes to reflect the regional diversity of the UK, the most important consideration for awarding NRPF monies is that it is giving new talent the chance to make programming for ITV1.

6
Do we accept pitches for one-off shows?
These are much harder to schedule, but we would certainly look at it for the 21:00 and weekend slots. The high cost of these also has to be taken in to consideration. There is also the possibility of transmission pilots being funded through the NRPF.

7
Are we interested in live/event programming?
Yes definitely. Live programmes bring a sense of energy and excitement to the ITV1 schedule.

8
Are submissions with established talent/presenters attached viewed more favourably than unknown ones/none?
Please ensure you have confirmed access to talent before pitching this as being the case. We will review all submissions with equal consideration. If the idea is inherently talent-driven then of course the popularity of the talent will have an effect.

9
Do we wish to see taster tapes if they are available?
Yes – but not initially. If we are interested in discussing your submission further, we will then request to see one. Please indicate if you have any tapes on your submission.

About the Roadshows
10
Who can attend the Roadshows?
The fund and the roadshows are open to any individual or production company that has not previously produced a network programme for ITV1. This includes independent producers as well as "new to network" in-house producers. The fund is also open to producers who have made network programmes for channels other than ITV1.
